Tom Silcott currently holds the position of President of S3 Integration. His experience in the security industry dates back to his tenure at Westinghouse Security, which started in 1992. Mr. Silcott got his start in the field as a technician at Westinghouse and quickly advanced to Service Manager by 1994. In April of 1996, Mr. Silcott left Westinghouse to start his own security company called Wavetech Security Systems. Wavetech Security Systems specialized in the sales, installation and service of electronic security solutions targeting Industrial and Commercial applications. Mr. Silcott was President of Wavetech Security Systems from 1996 – 2001. In 2001, he merged his installation and service company with a Research & Development Company and a Software Integration Company to form a new company called S3I L.L.C. The mission of company mergers into a single entity was to develop, manufacture, integrate, install and service a variety of High Threat Security detection products. In 2002, the company successfully invented, manufactured, and deployed an advanced sensor technology called IBAC. The IBAC product detected biological threats such as B. anthracis, (which causes anthrax bacteria), Y. pestis, (which causes plague), and viruses (such as smallpox) and toxins (such as ricin). S3I L.L.C. was sold to ICX Technologies in 2007, in which Mr. Silcott participated in the sale of the Company. In 2004, Mr. Silcott started S3 Integration, L.L.C., as a customer service organization to provide high-end security integration systems and services for access control, video surveillance, intrusion & perimeter detection systems for large commercial applications. Prior to entering the electronic security market, Mr. Silcott attended University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and owned a company that provided sales, installation and service of commercial telephone systems.
Executive Vice President
Mike Simmons’ experience in the Electronic Security field is extensive. His thirty plus (30+) year career in the security industry has included various roles ranging from technical services, engineering, sales, executive management, and business ownership. Well-rounded from these vast experiences, Mr. Simmons is a seasoned professional and a proven industry expert. He has been directly involved with hundreds of large- scale, sophisticated electronic security projects nationally and internationally valued at over a quarter billion dollars in system sales, deployments, and support services. Mr. Simmons is a creative, results-driven professional known for his broad base of experience, strategic planning, and relentless endeavor to customer service. Mr. Simmons has been recognized nationally through industry publications and has received various awards as a top performer and leading authority on technological advanced solutions for electronic security system applications. Prior to his migration into the security industry in 1987, Mr. Simmons was an Electronic Engineer for Allied Bendix Aerospace from 1984 to 1987 where is worked on various defense missile programs such as the Patriot Missile, the APX-100 Friend or Foe Aircraft Identification System, and other various classified programs. Before his employment at Bendix Aerospace, Mr. Simmons began his career in electronics at Maryland Electrical Testing Laboratories after receiving his degree in Electronics Engineering.
Principal and Managing Member
Thomas Rosato serves as a Managing Member in the ownership team of S3 Integration. Mr. Rosato’s extensive business experience has been vital in providing leadership and guidance for aggressive, yet responsible growth for the organization. In addition to his role at S3 Integration, Mr. Rosato has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Fortress International Group Inc. from January 19, 2007 to January 3, 2012. He has over 25 years of experience in mission-critical service businesses. He served as an Executive Officer at Secure America Acquisition Corporation, as well as the Principal Financial and Accounting Officer of Fortress International Group Inc. Mr. Rosato also served as the President of Global Technologies Group of Encompass Services Corporation since February 2000. Mr. Rosato co-founded Total Site Solutions, a division of Encompass performing mission-critical services and served as its President from January 1999 to February 2000 and was also responsible for developing the national accounts business of Encompass. From 1998 to 2001, he served as President of Group Maintenance of America/Encompass Services Corporation, National Accounts Division. Previously, Mr. Rosato founded Commercial Air of Power & Cable Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Encompass acquired in 1998, for more than five years, and served as its President from 1995 to 1998. From 1980 to 1995, he served in various capacities at Com-Site Enterprises, where he lastly served as its Chief financial officer and Chief operating officer. He has been Chairman of Total Site Solutions since 2002. He serves as Chairman of VTC L.L.C. In 2002, he co-founded TSS and Vortech and served as its Chairman. Mr. Rosato served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Fortress International Group Inc., from January 3, 2012 to March 28, 2012. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Fortress International Group Inc., from January 3, 2012 to March 28, 2012 and previously served as its Executive Director from January 19, 2007 to January 3, 2012. He has been a Director of Nexus Technologies Group Inc., since January 30, 2007. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Rosato received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Temple University in 1973.
Vice President of Operations and Finance
John Welling brings nearly three decades of experience in the financial and management field to his duties with S3, working closely with operational personnel and improving processes and reporting. With his solid expertise in corporate financial management, Mr. Welling currently oversees the general accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, treasury, information technology and human resource functions. With varied experiences throughout the public sector, he has brought his knowledge of financial management to public accounting firms, internet startup companies, a creative design firm, and an international exporter, instilling further value to S3 in the form of added leadership and focus on responsible growth.
John Welling is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Loyola College in Baltimore.
Vice President of Business Development, the Carolinas
Andrew Chalson has been involved with development and marketing in high-tech security innovation for over two decades. Beginning his career in the security industry in 1993 as a Regional Sales Manager in the field of security video management, joined 1 Volt Associates, a manufacturer’s representative agency covering the Mid-Atlantic region, eventually managing that company’s largest and most profitable territory with customers throughout North and South Carolina. As an expert in that geographic region, Chalson served some of the industry’s largest and most recognizable manufacturers, including Pelco, Avigilon, Code Blue, Integral Technologies and many other recognizable companies in the Security Video, Access Control, IT, and related Communications Industries.
Andrew Chalson graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 1990 with a BS in Economics.
Director of Business Development
Brian Piccolo has over fifteen years of experience in the field of Electronic Security Systems Integration, beginning his career as an Electronic Access Control Specialist for Best Access Systems and culminating with his 2007 achievement as Stanley Security Solutions Salesperson of the Year and advancement towards his position as Director of Systems Integration. In that role, Piccolo’s responsibilities included the development of sales strategies for expanding the systems integration business and leading the development of enhancing existing technologies, overseeing the launch of new technology offerings to specific vertical markets. At S3, Piccolo brings his years of specialized knowledge of modern security technology to onboarding and educating new clients, as well as maintaining account relationships with several of S3 Integrations key accounts.
Additionally, Piccolo maintains his extensive knowledge in providing fully integrated state-of-the-art security systems consisting of Access Control, CCTV, Network and Digital Video Recording, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Detection and Intercommunication, guaranteeing that only the most modern and innovative security solutions become available to S3’s extensive roster of clients.
Brian Piccolo graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with dual majors – a BA in Business and in Economics.
